The announcement followed the broadcast of the final episode of the second season which aired today in Japan. A release date nor further details about the new season were announceda t the time of reporting.
Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka’s originalGrand Blue Dreaming manga is published in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon manga magazine since April 2014, with 24 volumes published in Japan to date. Kodansha USA also publishes an English-language version of the manga.
Shinji Takamatsu writes, directs, and serves as sound director for the TV anime at animation studios Zero-G and Liber. Hideoki Kusama provides the character designs and serves as chief animation director and Yukari Hashimoto provides the music.
